The Americans are Coming! The Americans are Coming!
In the summer of 2019 California enjoyed an approximate $21 billion dollar budget surplus, the overall US economy was strong, our borders were being secured, big and small business was booming, lower and middle class wages were on the rise, inflation was essentially non-existent and a Republican administration had stymied China, delivered the Abraham Accords, unwound participation in Afghanistan with no casualties and did not engage in any new wars.
If someone had you then that less than two years later your world would be almost unrecognizable, would you have believed them?
It is said that “the pandemic got us where we are.” Contrary to this convenient untruth, the pandemic was not the catalyst to our present diminished world, economic and cultural condition - it is the peoples’ response to the pandemic that is to blame.
The peoples’ response to the pandemic has had catastrophic results on all our lives. The response favored rule over rationality, force over freedom, “Science” over science, profit over prosperity and censorship over speech. The peoples’ response enabled massive changes to voting processes, isolated you and your family in your home, shuttered your businesses, schools and places of worship, consigned your sick relatives to die alone in hospitals, denied your medical autonomy, mandated an experimental (and failed) vaccine upon a trusting population, unnecessarily masked your children and denied them a proper education, and crushed free speech via unprecedented media-government-tech sector collusion as evidenced most recently with the firing of Tucker Carlson of Fox News.
People set the stage for where we are today – dubiously led by the Democrat “adults in the room” away from America the Great (land of the free and home of the brave) to a shockingly diminished America – a mere two and half years into the Biden administration. The People have delivered an open border, soaring inflation, failed banking system, teetering dollar, reliably two-tiered justice system, crippling energy policy, destroyed faith in government institutions, another senseless war, betrayed children, and a weakened military all underpinned by a cultural revolution driven by “woke” ideology which divides rather than unites as it seeks to guarantee equity for the favored rather than equality of opportunity for all.
If given a choice of year in which to live, which would you choose – 2023 or 2019?
If we stay on our current course, allowing our country to be consumed by a decidedly anti-American government with an insatiable appetite for authority, and nourished by its Woke Cultural Revolution, how long do you think “your America” will exist?
